I was walking passed The Worcester of Christchurch on Saturday and thought how pretty it looked with the morning sun tickling its gables. This one of this city’s loveliest B&Bs. Not only does it have enormous street appeal, it’s also filled with a few surprises. For a start, it’s one of the few B&Bs in New Zealand with its own art gallery – owner and host Maree Ritchie has been an art dealer for over 25 years and she has given over the ground floor drawing room to her art business. It’s a great combination giving this classic hospitality experience an added level of interest. She and Tony (Taylor) have filled their heritage-listed Victorian home (built in 1893) with classic antiques making it the perfect place to play out your fantasies of living in a bygone era. www.worcester.co.nz
