Christchurch 2008. AjrI don't know what it is about the sight of monks
flashing cameras around the place that I find so incongruous.
It just seems so at odds with my vision of monks as walking advertisements for abstinance and all things non-materialist. This little scene reminded me of the time I climbed to a remote Buddhist temple in South Korea and was flabbergasted to come across a grey-robed monk hoeing a lonely mountain field while he talked on his mobile phone.
