The Worcester of Christchurch. May 2008. AjrI was walking passed The Worcester of Christchurch on Saturday and thought how pretty it looked with the morning sun tickling its gables. This one of this city’s loveliest B&Bs. Not only does it have enormous street appeal, it’s also filled with a few surprises. For a start, it’s one of the few B&Bs in New Zealand with its own art gallery – owner and host Maree Ritchie has been an art dealer for over 25 years and she has given over the ground floor drawing room to her art business. It’s a great combination giving this classic hospitality experience an added level of interest. She and Tony (Taylor) have filled their heritage-listed Victorian home (built in 1893) with classic antiques making it the perfect place to play out your fantasies of living in a bygone era. www.worcester.co.nz
