It was 2004 when I first saw this Docklands sculpture by New Zealand artist, Virginia King - soon after it had been installed. Back then it stood alone, in the middle of a huge green parkland. When I returned a couple of days ago, I was amazed and disappointed to see it had been completely over-shadowed by huge apartment blocks, building sites and working cranes. It seemed to me to have lost a little of its power as a result. That said, I still think it is a lovely piece - and so good to see New Zealand represented among the twenty-five large scale sculptures dotted around the Docklands preccinct. www.docklands.com.au
